Though barely able to contain two slices of English muffin, in Japan this toaster oven apparently qualifies as “jumbo.”

Just like American cats, Japanese cats frequently eat butt for breakfast. During the day, we stopped by a shop called Country Cat. Strangely, we couldn’t find any butt licking inside. But I suppose we could have brought our own.
After a day at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and Park, Hisachan and I walked around for a bit in the evening, where holiday displays set in neon lights glowed upon the avenues.
Another fine breakfast in Japan: yogurt, hot miso, and gigantic toast. They even gave me cereal to make me feel like I was back in Portland.
After a formal introduction to The Princess’ mother, Naoko-San, we drag our luggage to the back room where we will be staying. Here we find an altar honoring the ancestors of the Yamada Family tucked within a recess in the wall.
