Another fine breakfast in Japan: yogurt, hot miso, and gigantic toast. They even gave me cereal to make me feel like I was back in Portland.
There’s nothing like a cup of hot miso to get you going in the morning—so light and scrumptious! Also, I have no idea if this is standard in Japan, but the bread slices were mega thick and freakin’ huge.
We arise to New Year’s Eve morning, eat breakfast, and lay out our battle plans. Breakfast includes cornflakes purchased from a Japanese Seven-Eleven, and some Japanese jam which, despite the diminutive size of the jar in which it is contained, packs exquisite flavor.
We arose to the frigid dawn, breakfasted, and dragged our corpses to the car. Destination: Ground Zero.
